Saturday Stories: Yet Even More Coverage Of That Masking MetaAnalysis And Some Non-COVID Writing Of Mine On Grandparents Gifting Sugary Love
Ever wonder how much sugar grandparents offer their grandkids? We kept track when ours were 8, 6, and 4.
I was absolutely slammed this week so not as much time for reading, but among the few articles I did have the time to read, I’d recommend Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz’ take on that seemingly cursed Cochrane masking metaanalysis
Meanwhile in non-COVID writing, for Medscape, I chimed in on the staggering amount of sugar society provides children without their parents’ knowledge or consent, including of course from their grandparents.
Have a great weekend!
That was such a great article! I have put so much time and effort into raising my daughter on real food, and I feel utterly overwhelmed by all the rubbish that gets handed to her by family, friends, her peers, and teachers. She is sitting next to me now sobbing, with a massive sugar/additive ‘hangover’ following a birthday sleepover. When I picked her up this morning, she was eating cake covered in lollies and whipped cream for breakfast. She said there was no water - only lemonade and juice. I feel like she has been poisoned. She has been eating carrot sticks all day to try and feel better. Between screens and sugar - parenting is a battlefield. I will share your article. Thanks for taking to time to write it.
