Sanjiv K. Gandhi, Cameron Morhaliek, Joe Vipond co-wrote a piece on the responsibility of doctors and hospitals to maintain mandatory masking. It’s such an odd thing to see hospital masking disappear. Odder still to see MDs who I know to be caring and smart rationalize unmasking. While of course we can all determine our own degrees of personal risk, we’re talking about one of the most contagious viruses the world has ever seen and one that’s still killing our most vulnerable and randomly disabling others. All MDs see vulnerable patients - it’s unavoidable in our work - apparently so too these days for many is cognitive dissonance.
Because Judaism predates modern religions it is often confusing to people when they learn that Judaism is much more than just religious doctrine. Here, Rabbi Jonathan Romain covers David Baddiel’s new book The God Desire and in this brief piece, describes me - a devoted and fiercely Jewish atheist.
I think you mean The God Desire, not The God Delusion.
Thank you for sharing the article. The phrase, “to be a good Jew you don’t have to believe in God, you just have to do what he says” struck a chord with me. Substituting ‘Christian’ for ‘Jew’ encapsulates my belief of Christianity as a philosophy rather than a religion. It reconciles my beliefs in a very succinct way.
