Read two pieces this week on COVID that stuck out.
The first was by Anne N. Sosin, Lakshmi Ganapathi and Martha Lincoln in STAT where they wax rightly incredulous on our current viral hurricane and how “living with viruses should mean embracing simple public health measures rather than learning to live with staggering levels of illness and death”
The second was by Dr. Christopher Applewhaite, Kerri Coombs, Dr. Susan Kuo and Protect Our Province BC in The Tyee where they cover the many misconceptions and dangers posed by the #UrgencyOfNormal gang who lobbied for the removal of all protections for our kids which has resulted in our current crisis in paediatric care.
Finally, thanking goodness that it’s almost time for me to shave off my #Movember stache. Fundraising is going fairly well, currently, thanks in large part to your generosity, I’m at 76% of my annual goal. If you’ve not donated, and you’re able, you can do so here, and because last week I mentioned the clincher for me getting involved again was seeing a video describing the Movember fundraising supported Shoulder to Shoulder Resiliency Program, an upstream mental health support program built for first responders, by first responders following a number of deaths by suicide of BC firefighters I took the time to find it so you might watch too.
Have a great weekend!
